Add music and text
In this tutorial you'll learn how to add background music to a video clip to make it more enjoyable, especially during silent parts of the video, and how to add an introductory text to the beginning of the clip.
Create a new project
First, you need to create a new project using either the Console or from the Video Editor dashboard. See the overview article for more details.
Add clips to tracks
Once you are in the Video Editor project, add a video clip to the track. Check trim and merge tutorials for details. Then, switch to the audio tab and search for a music track:
Drag and drop this audio clip to the audio track:
If needed, you can trim the audio clip by using the Cut button or by dragging the right edge of the clip to the left:
You can also adjust the music volume and add fade in or fade out effects in the Edit clip tab:
Add text overlay
Finally, you can add an introductory text to the beginning of the video. Click the Text tab and drag and drop one of the text overlays to the text track:
Then, click on the text clip so it shows up in the preview and enables editing the text in the properties area:
To add another line of text to your overlay, click the + button in the Text properties column:
You can also customize your overlay by changing text thickness, adding underline, strikethrough, changing color etc.
Render video
Once the video has a proper introductory message and music added, you can render the video.
