If your live encoder is having trouble connecting to the Streaming server you can try using the Alternative streaming server address.

Some encoders have built in support for using an Alternative streaming server address as backup and automatically switch if it is having trouble with the first address, like for example Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder.

Note that the Alternative streaming server address isn't visible unless either preview or the live event has started. It is also important to note that the address changes for each live event or manual preview, unlike the Streaming server address which is tied to one of your Live channels.
