Live Mixer with App stream and presentation

Last Updated 3 years ago

This guide covers a live mixer event with a presenter shown from iOS App, presentation and a chat function.

Upload a presentation

To use a presentation in live mixer, it needs to be converted into the PDF format. If you are using Microsoft Office, use the Print function to print to "Microsoft Print to PDF" printer. This way all fonts will be properly embedded in the PDF file. Then upload this PDF file in Console. After uploading, the presentation is visible as a "Collection" and a set of images extracted from it:

Setup live channels

Make sure two live channels are set up: one mirror push channel for streaming the presenter and second one for mixed live event. Live channels are configured in Settings -> Live -> Channels page. Please do not use a mirrored channel for Live Mixer event - you will not be able to watch the stream from it.

Start streaming from iOS App

Since a mirror channel is used, streaming is always possible from the iOS App. Touch the "Broadcast Live" button in the App, select Push Mirrored channel and touch "Broadcast" button.

Finally, press the "Record" button to start broadcasting.

Start a live mixer event

In Console Studio page, create a Live Mixer project and add two sources in the Media page: live channel and uploaded presentation. You'll need to use the live channels filter to see them.
