Account security settings

Last Updated 6 months ago

You can restrict access to view your videos by geographic location, by IP address, by SSO groups or by domain, this includes preview links.

Note that these restrictions do not affect viewing media in the Console, and that the Account wide setting also affects any videosite connected to your account.

To restrict your videos by GeolockingIP range, SSO or Domain, go to Settings  Security and fill in which countries you want your video to be available in, specify domains, specify SSO, or which IP ranges that should be able to access your videos.

Locking by domain

You can restrict access to media so that the media will be accessible embedded only on a listed domain. By selecting "Allow Screen9.com" preview links and QR links generated in Console will be accessible, even when domain restriction is set. To whitelist your Video site, add the domain screen9.tv in the permitted domain list.

Locking by SSO
Lock media so that the viewer has to sign in using the connected SSO federation (SAML2 or Azure Entra ID) before accessing the content. If no SSO groups are set, the viewers only need to be signed in to the connected external SSO federation. If groups have been added, users being a member of at least one of the groups can access the media, i.e. there is no requirement to be a member of all listed groups to access the media.

Time based links
When fetching preview links in Console media list, the default link lifespan of new links created is the time set in the Time based security section.

Locking to a specific IP or IP range
You can limit access to multimedia by enabling IP restrictions, adding address pools or a specific address from which the media will be available.
Please note: Setting IP restriction on account level will also restrict video site, if you have one on your acccount.

Geolocking

If you want to restrict access to media only to specific countries (one or few), you can use the Geolocking option. Simply select the country you want to enable media visibility from the list and click + to confirm your selection.

These settings can be overridden on single media level.
