How do I configure my videosite?
You can access the admin interface of the videosite from the Console in the Video Site section of Settings.
Pressing the name of the videosite brings you to the non-admin view of the site, and pressing the wrench under "Actions" brings you to the admin interface of the videosite.
The login page to the videosite configurator can also be accessed by appending "/admin" to the url of your videosite. For example, if you have the videosite mycompanyname.screen9.tv then your configurator will be located on the URL mycompanyname.screen9.tv/admin.
You will be prompted for a username and password and these will be the same credentials as what you use to log in to Quickchannel Console.
Themes
You can choose between dark or light mode for the video site. Pick a preset color scheme from the dropdown menu called "Appearance" in the theme tab.
The background can also be customized to either be a color or a background image.
You can upload a picture or simply edit the colors.
Smaller images can be set to repeat, so that they cover the entire screen without being stretched and warped across the screen.
Use a compressed .jpg image, under 4MB, with a max resolution of 5000x5000px to avoid slow load times.
You can choose between fonts for the header and the body as well, open the drop down menu to select the font.
Media customization & Site customization using HTML
You can add basic HTML to media descriptions within the console
. Then they will contain the formatted text when opening a video inside the videosite.
This can be used to create things like links, bold text, italics and more.
To add line breaks, add the
tag between rows, as only pressing enter does not break lines.
You can also add HTML to the footer using the same method.
Click the pen icon to edit and format your text or add links.
Videosite info
Edit the information shown to search engines and that's displayed in your browser's tab bar by clicking on the "Info" tab in the menu. The fields Title and Description are shown in search engine (such as Google) results and also on the browser tabs bar. Upload a favicon to further improve the appearance in the tabs bar.
Displaying categories
In order to choose what content you want to display and in what order, go to the Categories tab.
Here you can toggle on and off categories, as well as move them around.
Videosite access & Embedding
You can restrict and manage access under the access tab.
Here you can for example make it so that the videosite is only accessible when embedded on a specific domain.
A password can also be set.
You can also disable search engine indexing, meaning the site is not displayed in search engine results when searched for.
Embedding will follow the access conditions you set up in the section above.
You can modify the embed height, width and choose to hide the logo and footer.
